I'm not dead (and nether is this account)
What's happened in the past year since the last journal?
- I did a 6 month course in drafting and CAD, learning some actual applicable skills for the NZ job market
- I got a job doing CAD work, which is awesome! Not 100% design but it's a great start and incredibly enjoyable
- I moved from Tauranga over the hill to Hamilton for said job (had to find a flat, move and start the job within one week, that was fun!)
- I've bought myself two Raleigh Twenty bicycles as projects, one is now finished, the other is getting stripped for paint
So what's next?
- Drawing has been put on the back burner for a while but hopefully soon it'll be more of a priority and a good break from staring at a computer screen all day
- I've caught the bookbinding bug so there might be a few books uploaded sooner or later.

First freelance job!

A few weeks ago I finished up my first project as a freelance designer, a mini fishing boat for Sealord (NZ fishing company) that will be given away to two lucky kids!
I did the design for the top half and helped construct the two boats, it was a really exciting and informative project, and considering I want to go into prop and model making, it was ideal

Occassionally, not so much in the van though...

2. In the same week, on the same road! (dual carriage way with a 50kph limit, I was doing 70...
What's the fastest you've ever driven?
Ragging the Escort at around 150kph

YES
Would you rather be the driver or the passenger?
Driver.
Do your passengers like to be backseat drivers?
Van had no back seats for this very reason
Whats the longest distance you've ever driven in one day?
500km, limited to 90-95 kph the entire way
Where was the first place you drove when you got your license?
Can't remember, probably home.
Did you have any restrictions on where you can drive?
Not now.

1988 Suzuki Super Carry (currently, none)

1980 Ford Escort
How many cars have you owned?
four and a third (Escort, Laser, Suzuki, Herald and a third in a escort van)

Yep
Are you nervous about driving over bridges/tunnels?
Nope, tunnels make every car sound amazing!
Do you have a lot of junk in your car?
Never!
Is your car clean?
The van was purposely not clean

Yes, unfortunately

Always
Ever followed someone while driving just to see where they were going?
No.

Never had it in any of my cars

Nothing like cruising around blasting Norwegian vegan deathcore from a tiny little van

Nope, I'm sure it'd be physically impossible

No, but see below for a tyre related story...
Ever had something else happen to your car?
I forgot to do the wheel nuts up one day on my Escort, and coming home from the vets with my Mum and Sister (and a cat), the car started vibrating badly, then the offside rear wheel shot passed!
Got it stopped just shy of a storm drain, lucky no one was coming the other way! took a chunk out of the tyre, scraped the wheel and left a lovely dent in the quarter panel

Never owned an auto, don't plan on doing so ever..

In the Van, around 16, all dressed as Zombie Mexicans, all quite drunk... it was quite a sight when we pulled in front of the uni bar!
